Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne viral infection common throughout the tropics and subtropics, including parts of Asia, Africa, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. We offer the dengue vaccine for travellers heading to endemic areas, as part of a full pre-travel health consultation.

Who Should Get Vaccinated?

• •Travellers to dengue-endemic areas, particularly repeated or long-stay visits
• •Those who have previously had a confirmed dengue infection
• •Anyone wanting extra protection alongside mosquito bite avoidance measures

How It Works

Our Dengue vaccination service includes:

• 1.Pre-travel health assessment and suitability check
• 2.Discussion of travel plans and previous dengue history
• 3.First dose of dengue vaccine administered
• 4.Second dose given approximately 3 months later to complete the course

Common side effects include soreness at the injection site, headache, muscle pain and tiredness, which usually settle within a few days. Vaccination alongside mosquito bite avoidance — repellent, covering up, and using nets — offers the best protection.
